FERRY NOTICE—All Ferrymen throughout the parish are requested to pay closer attention to their calls and try to answer them more promptly in the future and they are further requested to provide the boats with, at least, one extra pair of oars and oar-locks to be used in case of emergency. WEEDS MUST BE CUT. Notice is hereby given to all persons owning or controlling property within the city of New Toulouse, that all thistles, cockle burrs, wild lettuce and other noxious weeds must be mowed at once. Much complaint has been made to the police department about the growth of these weeds. There seems to be a general disregard of the provisions of the city ordinance which imposes a fine of not less than L$50 for any person permitting such weeds to grow on premises owned or controlled by them. This department will proceed at once against all persons failing to cut their weeds. P. Pestana, Chief of Police.
