A message from the mayor

We found the following missive in our mailbox, scrawled on the back of a handbill advertising a hair restorative, so we are pretty sure it’s legit.

Note to whom it may concern, I, Henri Godenot, did not pay someone to kidnap the Newspaper Editor. I am not planning anything nefarious in the Bayou, and I did not recently trap any rabbits. And I am totally not lying, you can believe me, because I am a trusted public official.
